Myth or psycology

Since the very young age we have been hearing some of the very common thing like do not poke from back/ pick at when someone is going out or if someone is doing something good then do not interfere or the work wont be done. Stop immediately if a cat cuts your way and someone else does not crosses before you or maybe do not go out if someone has sneezed once and wait for second sneeze and many more like this.

Wait! To this a question tickles to my mind. what if the person is having cough and cold and always sneezes in odd number? If something happens wrong because we stopped on the path just because a cat then how does it solves our purpose to stop and no wrong will happen? If our work is not completed or has problems even if no one has poked us then? Point to think RIGHT. So let’s give it a thought at least once.

In actual sense our work is not effected because the cat has cut your way or because someone has sneezed but it is effected because we tend to waste our precious time for someone else to cross the same road that the cat has cut or we wait for another sneeze to come. Then we think that the other person is going to wait for us leaving all his work. So WHO WRONG; the sneeze, or cat or we who believed in it and thought that the other will stop all his possible work?

Your work does stops or doesn’t gives good results when poked from back. Is it true? Just think a bit. No, not at all it happens because we psychologically fell and tend to admit that it won’t be done on any cost because of this very negative thinking we tend to put less efforts or do work halfheartedly because of which our result is effected and not by someones poking from the back. This happens even when a small child does not wants to work or complete its work but is force to do it. At that time his work is not the best actually not even good but no one had nibbled him. THEN ……..what happened to him? Point to think right? So give it a try.

These are the myths that wrong or problems happen because of someone sneezing from the back or poking or cat cutting the way and other like these and they are the excuses to put your inefficiency to others shoulder. Whereas it is our fault that we become incapable to understand the value of someone else and there time. So from now on I think we all must think at least once before believing on any such thing.

CAN MOTIVATION AID LEARNING?

A classroom is a single unit consisting of diversified students. Every student learns and grasps things a little differently. Every student absorbs a teaching style differently as well as their personalities also make a particular learning style unique to each student. Every child is comfortable to a specific learning style. Visual learners tend to grasp things better when an educational material is demonstrated. Auditory learners learn just by hearing the information presented and Kinesthetic learners need to touch things and make models to demonstrate what they have learnt. They learn best by carrying out a physical activity rather than listening to a lecture or watching a demonstration.

Although every student grasps things differently there is one factor that is common to every student and that is the motivation to learn. It is important to take advantage of not only the ability of a student to learn but also what motivates the student to learn.

Some students learn what is put before them. They do things because they feel a sense of obligation to do them. For them it doesn’t matter how the educational material is presented. They do not need external rewards to learn things. Others students need a tangible reward. For example, a basketball player must maintain a specific grade to be allowed to play at the national level. These students do schoolwork because the end result is that they are allowed to participate in their chosen sport or activity.

For each child there is a different reward. Some students are motivated by rewards that are internal. These students learn things out of pleasure and the desire to know more about things. They learn for the joy of accumulating knowledge. For them knowledge is a reward. For some students reward is mere completion of a subject. These students finish a chapter and immediately move on to next chapter in no time. For them the reward is just completion of the course before time. Grades are also an important reward for some students. Receiving praise for good grades is a reward and a motivator.

Internal rewards, externals rewards, praises, grades, the joy of learning can all be powerful motivators. It is important to understand what inspires or motivates a student to learn and a right mix of learning styles and motivators can bring out the best in a child.
